Love at the Salt Flats
About a week before these photos took place Aurora reached out to me in the hopes that I was available. Her and her boyfriend, Clark, were visiting Utah and had never been to the Salt Flats and wanted to see if it lived up to the hype.
These two cuties are from the San Francisco Bay Area, however had been living in Colorado. They were stopping in Utah on their way home and knew they had to explore while they were here.
I always say that I feel so lucky that I get to live in Utah and photograph people here, because not only is it so beautiful but so incredibly diverse. The Salt Flats will always have a special place in my heart though, so I will never pass up an opportunity to shoot there!
Now don't get me wrong, engagements at the Salt Flats = such a happy heart, but something that these two did that was super fun was renting a dress and creating something even more magical.
I decided to do a new trend going around in the photography community, where you have your couple take pictures of each other and I have to say either one of them could have taken my job from me lol.
My FAVORITE part about being out at the Salt Flats though is Sunset. I'm a sucker for golden/blue hours to begin with and they really take the cake at the Salt Flats. Due to where it is, the sun goes down and bounces off the white of the Salt Flats, creating the most incredible glow.
These two had serious style, to say the least. They told me that they specifically had gone out earlier and bought matching opposite Converse! Tell me it's not the cutest thing you've ever seen!
By the time that the sun had gone down on the Salt Flats I'm confident in saying that I had made two new super rad friends. My favorite part about being a photographer is being able to meet so many new people! I love meeting new people, from new places, and becoming friends just through pictures and story telling. I get to capture moments for other people, but they are also moments that I will remember forever.
